Transforming Drainage Maintenance in Wolverhampton

Towards the end of last year, City of Wolverhampton Council took a significant step in enhancing their flood management program by installing 87 gully sensors into their drainage network. These sensors were strategically placed in areas known to be residential flooding hotspots, with the vision of improving the council's understanding of their asset network and to strengthen their flood mitigation program 🚨💧

The deployment of these sensors was a success, providing valuable real-time data on water levels and blockages, which in turn allowed for more proactive and efficient management of the drainage system, as well as the go-ahead for a further deployment of monitors this at the beginning of this year.

The success of this implementation highlights the importance of local authorities investing in advanced technology to enhance flood defences, and how by doing so, they can better protect communities from the increasing risks of flooding. The council's commitment to upgrading their infrastructure with such innovative solutions is commendable, and we are excited to continue our collaboration in ensuring the safety and resilience of Wolverhampton’s communities 🌍🤝
