How it started  

Our work with Hampshire County Council began through our partnership with M Group Highways and Carl Saunders Fencing (CFS) . In 2021, Carl Saunders Fencing, a key contractor responsible for vehicle restraint systems (VRS) across Hampshire’s highways, identified the need for a more efficient and modern approach to managing their asset data and maintenance operations. 

Recognising the challenges of manual processes and fragmented systems, they turned to map16 for a smarter solution. Together, we introduced VRS Pro, a specialist module within map16 Asset Intelligence, tailored specifically to support VRS asset management. 

Since its deployment, VRS Pro has provided CSF, Hampshire County Council and M Group Highways - with real-time visibility of assets, streamlined inspections, and a fully digitised, auditable workflow. What began as a focused solution for VRS assets has since grown into a trusted, collaborative relationship built on innovation, efficiency, and shared goals for the future of asset management.

To meet the needs of CSF, Hampshire County Council, and M Group Highways, we delivered VRS Pro - a fully integrated, easy-to-use module within map16 Asset Intelligence. 

VRS Pro empowers safety barrier contractors to document, map, and manage all aspects of their work in a single digital environment.

Whether undertaking re-tensioning programmes, inspections, or repairs, contractors can now accurately record asset conditions, track interventions, and prioritise maintenance activities based on defect categorisation. 

By giving field teams and office staff access to real-time asset data, VRS Pro ensures that critical defects are flagged early, resources are deployed efficiently, and compliance with safety standards is consistently maintained.
